Last week I hopped on the ferries and headed North - to Southold, NY. I arrived at The North Fork Table & Inn ready to experience my first Slow Food Dinner.
Totally delicious! A lovely crowd. Interesting Speakers (Baymen, Farmers, Chef). Here's what I learned: Peconic Bay Scallops are in season for the next month and they tasted like candy!! I have never tasted sweeter Scallops in my life and the good news is that this year's harvest is one of the biggest in recent years. Brussel Sprouts......in season and so yummy I'm tempted to go buy some right now and make a meal of them!
If you can attend a Slow Food Dinner, I highly recommend you do. It's refreshing to spend an evening with some of the best locals around and eat our local produce. Yum!!
